What is the difference between the Signature Range and the Cosmeceutical Range?

When it comes to understanding the difference between the Signature Range and the Cosmeceutical Range, here’s your quick cheat sheet: our Signature Range is designed to offer an everyday skincare solution. Just think of this as your go-to best friend for those new to skincare or with minimal problem areas who simply want to nourish, protect, and hydrate their skin all year round with the help of premium quality, time-tested ancient ingredients backed by research and science.

On the other hand, our Cosmeceutical Range is more of a targeted collection of products intentionally designed to help repair and treat specific skincare concerns by harnessing the powers of ancient ingredients and high-grade actives. If you’re seeking a skincare solution for a specific problem like ageing, pigmentation, acne, dullness, and more, this is the right range for you.

What skin types is the Signature Range most suitable for?

As our incredible everyday staple range, the Dr Tanya Signature Range is primarily designed to support skin hydration and nourishment with the much-loved help of a range of extensively researched ancient ingredients that have withstood the test of time. As such, this range is most suitable for dry and dehydrated skin types or those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.

Is the Signature Range safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

You probably guessed it: You absolutely can! Just as our Signature Range is carefully formulated to be safe while breastfeeding, our incredible product range is also pregnancy-friendly.

Can I use the Signature Range if I have sensitive skin?

You certainly can! Our Signature Range harnesses the powerful benefits of some of the world’s most potent clean ingredients to deliver a premium, doctor-formulated collection of products suitable for sensitive skin that’s easily irritated.

A few key ingredients form the heart and soul of our Signature Range. This includes ingredients like Holy Basil, an Indian herb universally renowned for its healing and transformative properties, and Cacay Oil and Kakadu Plum, two Australian native plants known for their rejuvenating benefits. These well-researched ingredients have withstood the test of time, offering potent, gentle benefits on the skin.

How should you layer your skincare?

Your skincare ritual should begin with a quality cleanser (we always recommend double cleansing at night time to adequately remove dirt and make up), followed by a gentle, yet effective exfoliant (this shouldn’t be used daily). Next up are your serums. If you’re applying multiple serums to target various skincare concerns, the golden rule is to layer your serums in order of viscosity — i.e., start with your thinnest, lightest serums and build up your thickest, heaviest ones. Or, if they’re all of the same consistency, use the most important one first. Next in line, should be your eye serum or cream (if you use one), followed by your moisturiser to lock in hydration. In the morning, your final step should always be applying SPF50+.

When should you use serum?

There’s two parts to address when answering this question: (1) what exactly should someone use a serum for?, and (2) what part of your skincare ritual should your serum be part of?

To answer part one, serums generally contain a mixture of concentrated active ingredients to help target a specific skin concern, which may include fine lines and ageing, skin pigmentation and redness, dark spots, uneven skin tone, dullness, and more. Serums contain smaller molecules that can easily penetrate the skin and offer benefits at a much deeper layer.

To answer part two, serums should be applied after cleanser, exfoliation and toner and before your eye cream and moisturiser.
